KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK

Cortright Reservoir is east of Kings Canyon National park. This was our starting point for a 130 mile hike into some very senic country. Many people use this trailhead to hike into the Blackcap Basin area. After hiking through this area I can say that there is some nice areas here to explore. This also gives you good access to a part of Kings Canyon National Park that has a lot of cross country routes, one of which we did on this hike. Leaving Courtright Reservoir the first part of the trail is on a jeep road. You soon leave it and start your hike eastward toward Kings Canyon.
