If you were to hike to Tuolumne Meadows from Vogelsang you'd first get a look down Fletcher and Emeric creeks to the southwest. Below is your view looking back toward Vogelsang with the trail on the right. |
| Looking down toward Tuolumne Meadows below, with Rafferty Creek on the right. This was taken shortly after the trail was rebuilt. Its an expensive trail to build as it was built to handle the horse traffic that brings supplies to the camp. The first bear I ever had to chase off was along this creek. Due to jet lag I didn't make it too far up the canyon after the bus ride to Tuolumne Meadows. I woke around midnight hearing the claws of the bear digging into the bark on the tree. I yelled at it once and it came down and walked off. I can't remember a bear ever running off, just a slow amble. |
