| I've
seen quail a number of times along the trail. Sometimes it'll be a
female running along the trail, trying to protect the baby's, that
know to stay put when there is danger. See the quail in the picture
above? Its just to the left. Still can't see it? Try the bigger
picture below. Several times I've been hiking in the Sierras when a
quail almost at my feet flew off a short distance and acted like its
wing was broken. I'd start looking for babies at my feet but I couldn't
see them till they got too scared and ran off to mom. |
