I'm not sure if there ever was a lake here, but I do know that it has a dam at the outlet. I've heard that the water level in Lake Aloha can drop considerably in late season to provide a water supply for power generation. I believe the dam was originally created by PG & E but its now controlled by the Eldorado Irrigation District.
