| It takes about an hour to get from Duck Lake to Purple Lake. As you can see above its in a V shaped valley which doesn't make good campsites. There are a couple at the outlet but they probably aren't legal. Still, if you're not there early they'll probably be gone. As you climb out of the valley you'll have the view below looking back at the lake. I believe that some people hike into the far end of the lake by going cross country from the Convict Lake area. There are a few more lakes upstream. |
