| Returning to the Middle Fork of the Kings River we started to follow it downstream. Its a deep canyon which carries a lot of water in the spring. During years of heavy rainfall there are places where whole trees are uprooted and carried downstream. In one place the trail just disappeared into the river. Looking around we saw something above us so we managed to climb up the rocks and found a new part of the trail that a crew was building. You can see from the scouring of the river that high season flows keep the banks of the river clean of smaller rocks. |
