Leaving
the Wolf Rock area the trail heads toward Gooseberry River where there are a number
of campsites just outside the state park. I think its safe to say that
these are probably some of the most popular sites on weekends, so I'd avoid them.
It is a very nice section to hike though with all the wild flowers and
rapids. Even though you're in a state park for the last part you
probably won't see many people till you reach Gooseberry Falls near the
highway. From there you'll hike past a cabin and you'll be back into
the trees. |
