only know of one place along the trail where you'll find Poison Ivy,
and if you don't know what it looks like they've made it easy to find.
This is the steps leading up the the Castle Danger Road. I did meet a
family at the Encampent River bridge and the father had Poison Ivy on
his chest from petting the dog with no shirt on. Once
you cross the road you'll start to climb up toward Wolf Rock. You'll
get some nice views toward the lake and to the north along this
section. In the last picture is something you'll see in a number of
places along the trail. You'll find mounds in various places from the
Carpenter Ants. Several times I've seen flecks of wood falling from a
tree, and on closer look I'd see the ants dropping these flecks from cracks
in the trunk of the tree. |
