The
newest campsite on the Superior Hiking Trail is Beaver Pond, a little
more than half a mile from the Sucker River Trailhead. I'd make sure
I'd treat the water here. Typical for the campsites along the trail,
you'll find benches around the fire ring and a latrine nearby.
Unfortunately some latrines have been placed too close to the campsites
and lack privacy, especially early in the season before the plants grow
up. Hopefully the volunteers responsible for each campsite will move
those that are too close to a more favorable location when the pit is
full.
