 NORTHERN YOSEMITE

Jack Main Canyon

Just inside Dorothy Lake Pass is Dorothy Lake with Forsyth Peak (11180 ft) in the background. An unusual feature is a Rock Glacier on the side of the peak.

Below is a view looking back up Grace Meadow toward Dorothy Lake Pass. I think the notch on the left is Bond Pass, the route the Tahoe Yosemite Trail takes.

Below you'll see lot of plants that are a lighter shade of green. They're all wild onions. I was getting water out of a creek once when I smelled them. Since then I've seen them in a number of places, but never in the quantity as here. There is a creek that comes off the ridge but it never reaches the Falls Creek.

The remaining pictures are taken in the middle area of the Jack Main. Although these were taken about a week after July Fourth there isn't much water as it was a dry year.
