Above is the view looking toward Merced
Pass Fork as it flows toward its junction with Lyell and Triple
Creeks.
The park has done most of its trail work
on those that are closer to the highway, part of the High Sierra
Camps loop, or the Pacific Crest Trail. Since this part of the
park sees fewer visitors little has been done except to clear
fallen trees early in the summer. The trail below is an example
of needed work I've seen in 3 places in this area of the park.
Hopefully with the increased fees more work will be done in the
future to fix this. None of the trails like this were impassible.
You just needed to be careful, but then you need to do that at
all times anyway.
