| For three guys on a 3 day trip you have to have plenty of food. This resulted in a heavy canoe with 5 Duluth bags to carry everything. These bags are canvas bags wtih shoulder straps. On the portages two of us would carry two bags, one on the back and one in front. After the bags were carried to the end of the protage we'd return for the canoe. You risk loosing your food to bears when you do this so I don't recommend it. Also, none of us was able to carry the canoe alone. Althought I'd be able to carry it now, I'd make sure I had a lighter canoe next time, and not so much stuff. Camps had a fire ring and a pit toliet with a view as seen in the bottom picture. Just make sure none of your friends are around with a camera when you use it. |
