| The landscape of Korea is dominated by mountain ridges with rivers in between. Much of the area that we saw was developed including along the rivers. Rice fields were everywhere. The roads are forced to follow the valleys however, there are tunnels on some roads to shorten the distances. When I was in the Air Force I saw a few roads with parallel sections. These roads are built as runways in case of war. We did see some aircraft bunkers along one road. South Korea is in constant readiness in case of an attack from North Korea. |
