KOREA

The company that I work for is part owned by POSCO, one of the largest steel companies in the world. To promote better understanding between the two companies POSCO paid for a cultural exchange trip for 16 of us so that we could get a better understanding of the company and the Korean culture. I've been to Korea numerous times while flying in the Air Force, but when I stayed it was only for the night. Usually I was there for about 3 hours, just long enough to change clothes, catch a taxi, and head to town to go power shopping. Power shopping means you have a limited time to shop, and usually end up buying plenty of items, more than you would have bought if you spent the night. This was a whirlwind trip also, with a lot of time spent on a bus traveling from one spot to the next, but the sites we saw were great to see. Since it was a cultural trip that also meant local food. I'm not too keen on some of it being as I'm an Iowa meat and potato boy, but some of it was good. I don't think I'll ever like Kimchi.
