| We weren't allowed to take pictures of the shipyard but from this aerial picture in a brochure you can see just how big the shipyard is. Typical is the town seen to the left. The towns next to POSCO and Hyundai were mostly built to support the nearby facilities. At POSCO's Kwangyang facility they even have an auditorium where they have entertainment almost every night. Both POSCO's mills have soccer teams too, and they were building a new museum at Pohang that looked state of the art. POSCO also has free dormitories for the single workers to live in. |
