This is from the creek crossing at Poverty
Flat. An easy crossing in May, your feet may get wet earlier
in the season. They have several established campsites here,
along with a chemical toilet. When camping within about 6 miles
of the headquarters you have to camp in the established campsites.
There are two lakes further out which also have
restrictions as to how many people can camp there. The rest of
the park is set up into zones where you should have no problem
camping. On the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, I saw 3 people
while camped on the East Fork of Coyote creek, about 8 miles
from the headquarters. |
